Landshut. The St. Geistspitalstiftung, as the building owner, in cooperation with the two architectural firms B. Fischer and Delta ImmoTec, has planned a spacious extension with the generous volume of 7,161 m³, the estimated cost of which is currently 9.6 million euros. Today, the companies involved in the construction celebrated the topping-out ceremony together with representatives of the city of Landshut.

The three-story extension, which is the focus of this project, provides space for a variety of amenities. Of the total of 21 newly created rooms, nine have handicapped access, with each of these rooms opening out on to a terrace or balcony. There is spacious lounge is located on each floor. A highlight of the building is the flat roof, on which a Kneipp room with outdoor area and roof terrace will be created. In addition, smaller remodeling measures are also planned, such as a new ward bathroom in the area connecting to the old building. There is also ample space for technical rooms as well as the laundry in the basement. Construction work began in spring 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2024.

The Mayor of Landshut, Alexander Putz, was enthusiastic in his opening speech: "The expansion of the Magdalenenheim is a significant step for our city. It combines modern living with beautiful surroundings and will offer residents the highest possible quality of life."

Architect Bernhard Fischer added in his welcoming remarks, "Our inspiration came from the vision of creating a home that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. It was important for us to design an environment in which people feel comfortable and enjoy living. This vision has now become a reality thanks to the excellent and cooperative collaboration with our partner, Delta ImmoTec. Together we brought ideas to life and the result speaks for itself. We are proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to passing on this harmonious atmosphere to the residents when it is completed next year.
